Rationale and Gap to fill

Rationale and Gap to fill

For Nigeria to achieve its set objectives in the housing and built environment industry in line with the 2030 Goals for Sustainable Development and Agenda 2063, there needs to be a holistic engagement by relevant industry practitioners with specific context to the socio-political and economic variables that form part of the industry practices.

This is even more pertinent considering the country is going through a political transition. As such that a country-specific housing and built environment blueprint with a diagnostic assessment of the industry performance accompanied by clear policy and implementation strategies will be relevant in setting an actionable and practical pathway for Nigeria’s housing and built environment agenda.

In line with these, Shelter Afrique, through its Center of Excellence, is organizing a symposium on the theme: The Political Economy of the Built Environment.
The symposium is expected to converge public, private and other relevant stakeholders to assess Nigeria’s housing and built environment industry and recommend practical frameworks to enhance the performance and deliverables of the industry.
